Notes on this tool
Length, weight and area are converted by multiplying by a fixed factor, but temperature is not — since 0°C and 0°F are not the same point, temperature is always converted through Celsius first, then into the target unit.
“Ton” here means the metric ton (1,000 kg). The US short ton and UK long ton are slightly different and are not calculated here.
The result is shown to six decimal places; for very large or very small numbers, the final digits may be rounded.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't 0°C the same as 0°F?
Because the two scales define their zero point differently: 0°C is water's freezing point, while 0°F was an arbitrary different point. That is why, unlike length or weight, temperature cannot be converted by simple multiplication — this tool always converts through Celsius first.
How many kilograms is a “ton” in this tool?
1,000 kg — the metric ton used in Iran and most of the world. The US ton (slightly under 1,000 kg) is not calculated here.
Why aren't some converted numbers round?
Because the conversion factor between some units isn't round either — an inch is exactly 2.54 cm, but a mile is 1.609344 km. The result is exact, just not a tidy number.
