How many days lie between two dates, and what date falls a number of days before or after another.

How to use

  1. Choose the calendar, Jalali or Gregorian. Both dates are read in that one.
  2. For a gap, enter both dates. The “Today” button under each one fills it with today's date.
  3. For the day counter, press the second button at the top, enter a date and a number of days, and say whether to go forward or back.
  4. The answer appears immediately, and the resulting date has a copy button.

Notes on this tool

The difference is the number of nights between the two dates. Somebody ticking days off a calendar usually counts one more, so the figure that includes both end days is written beside it and you can take whichever you need.

For “how many days until…”, fill one of the two dates with the “Today” button; the answer then says how many days are left or have passed, rather than which date is later.

Years and months are counted in the calendar you chose. The number of days is the same in either one.

The day counter's result is written in Latin digits, so that wherever you paste it — a form, a table, a message — it is read correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't this match what I counted on a calendar?
Almost always because of that one day: you are counting both the first and the last day, and this is counting the gap between them. Both figures are shown; take the one your question needs. For “how many nights in a hotel” it is the first, for “how many days of leave” the second.
Are weekends and public holidays taken out?
No. Every day is counted. Iran's official holidays change by decree each year, and a tool that confidently applied last year's list would be worse than none at all.
Can I measure from a Jalali date to a Gregorian one?
Not directly, because the calendar setting applies to both dates. Put one of them through the Jalali date converter first, then enter both here in the same calendar.
How far ahead can the day counter go?
As far as the chosen calendar is defined. If a number takes the result past that, you get an error rather than a wrong date.
