Persian and Latin digits are both accepted.
Entering a date that does not exist — such as 30 Esfand in a year that is not a leap year — shows an error instead of a result.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the conversion?
It is exact for ordinary years and handles leap years correctly. Iran's official calendar is set by astronomical observation of the vernal equinox, so in very distant years the arithmetic can differ by a day.
How long are the Persian months?
The first six have 31 days, the next five have 30, and Esfand has 29 — or 30 in a leap year.
How do I write my date of birth on a foreign form?
Convert the date on your birth certificate here and write the Gregorian result. Watch the order: most forms want day/month/year but American ones want month/day/year — 3 April and 4 March look identical between the two. If the form does not say which it wants, writing the month in letters, as in 15 March 1995, removes the ambiguity entirely.
Is the Hijri (lunar) calendar supported?
Not in this version — only Jalali and Gregorian. Hijri conversion is planned for later.
